Ag cothú na Gaeilge i gContae an Dúin

Cuireadh Uachtar Tíre ar an cheantar idir Sliabh Crúibe agus Machaire Rátha suas go dtí an 15ú haois. Is grúpa deonach, trasphobail áitiúil é Glór Uachtar Tíre a bunaíodh i 1993 chun Gaeilge a chothú sa cheantar. Bronnadh deontas £140,000 ar Ghlór Uachtar Tíre thar trí bhliana chun clár gníomhíochtaí bríomhar a chur i bhfeidhm faoin Scéim Phobail Gaeilge 2011-2013 ata socraithe ag Foras na Gaeilge.  Faoi lathair tá 390 ball ag Ghlór Uachtar Tíre agus tá 4 duine ar choiste bainisteoireachta an ghrúpa.

 

 

 

Glór Uachtar Tire means the Voice of the Upper Lands or Highlands. Uachtar Tíre or Upper Lands/Highlands was the name given to the area between Slieve Croob and Maghera, Co Down, up to around the 1500s.

Glór Uachtar Tíre is a voluntary, cross community group established in 1993 to promote Irish in the locality. Glór Uachtar Tíre was awarded £140,000 over a period of three years to implement a packed programme of activities under Foras na Gaeile’s Scéim Phobail Gaeilge 2011-2013 grant.  There are currently 450 members in Glór Uachtar Tíre and its management committee is comprised of 8 people.

Fostering the Irish Language in County Down

Aclaí Abú 2019

Is cúrsa gairid acalaíochta lasmuigh é Aclaí Abú atá lonnaithe i bPáirc Foraoise Chaisleán Uidhlín. Beidh sé ar siúl idir 28ú-30ú Meitheamh 2019 agus beidh 24 dáltaí bunscoile á fhreastail ón na Gaelscoileanna sa cheantar. Beidh paistí idir Rang 4-Rang 7 ábalta an cúrsa a fhreastail.

 

Aclaí Abú is a short out-door pursuits course which is based in Castlewellan Forest Park. It will take place between the 28th-30th of June 2019 and will be attended by 24 children from the four local Irish language primary schools. Children in Rang 4-Rang 7 will be able to attend the course.
