"Give your child the gift of bilingualism!
Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh sí – Praise the youth and they will flourish.
Our children are the beating heart of our community, and we pride ourselves on our child-centred approach that keeps the well-being, the growth, and the nurturing of our children at the very centre of everything we do here.
It’s estimated that around 40% of the world population is monolingual. Extensive research shows the myriad of benefits to being bilingual. Several studies suggest the bilingual child’s brain is more equipped in planning, solving problems and ignoring distractions to stay focused, than that of the monolingual. There’s also research that shows a greater resistance to the onset of dementia in older bilinguals.
Being bilingual gives you more than just a second language. It gives you a second understanding of the world around you, a second nature even. Being bilingual helps to forge a deeper sense of empathy in children, a deeper ability to see the world from other perspectives.
We’re very proud to offer the gift of bilingualism to our children here at Naíscoil agus Bunscoil Bheanna Boirche, just one of many things that make us very proud of our growing school:
